Hip Width Rarely Affected by Diabetes

The width of the hips is usually used to measure the level of obesity. However, research from Australia, recently, also found that if the hip can reduce the possibility of premature death. Because, big hips protect against metabolic disorders such as diabetes (read: Waist Measure of Obesity).

Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, found that if a way which is taken almost as a measure of obesity. The researchers measured waist and hip circumference that will reveal a strong relationship between diabetes and mortality.

The study is the result of cooperation with Sweden, Mauritius,Finland, Britain, and Denmark. ”By accounting for the protective effect of hip circumference, we were able to isolate the negative health risks, as measured by waist circumference,” said Professor Stefan Soderberg from the University of Umea,Sweden.
